90mm f/5 refractor on alt-az mount. Magnification 15x, field of view: 5.3 degrees. North is to the right in this drawing.
Outer coma wrapped around the front and both sides of a relatively bright inner coma. Outer and inner coma appeared light blue in color. Gas tail extended straight back, while the dust tail appeared feathered and arched off to the right. The tail appeared to be between 3 - 4 degrees in length with direct vision, and a little longer with averted vision.
